Green Valley
A landscape series about green tea hills, narrow paths and streams. Wide views reveal the shape of the valley, while closer photographs show how many different structures exist within its dominant green.
Green is more than a colour
From a distance, the hills of Green Valley appear as broad, soft surfaces. With a longer look, rows, paths, individual buildings and transitions between cultivated land and denser vegetation begin to emerge. The landscape is quiet, but far from uniform. It is made up of many smaller systems laid across the contours of the hills.
The sequence deliberately alternates between overview and proximity. Panoramic images explain the shape of the valley and the relationship between its slopes. Vertical frames lead the eye along a path, past tropical plants or beside a stream, drawing the viewer deeper into the terrain. The result is not only a view of a place, but a sense of how it might feel to move through it.
Even within the dominant green, light and surface keep changing the image. Young leaves reflect almost yellow, shaded areas become deep and cool, while water and sky create pale interruptions. Green Valley is therefore not simply a record of a green landscape. It explores how scale, structure and light can produce very different photographs from a single family of colour.
